The characters doing the work
Bert and Ernie carry this collection. The Bert and Ernie Driving Me Bananas oversized tee is the single biggest seller in the range, and the oversized canvas is what lets the pair play at full size instead of sitting like a badge on the chest. Bert gets the strangest run in the collection on his own: the Angry Bert tee is a study in a very specific facial expression, and the Angry Bert oversized tee scales that expression up to the point where it becomes the whole garment. The 123 Sesame St oversized tee goes at the address rather than the cast, which is the piece to reach for when you want the reference without the face.
The Tokyo run is where the designed-not-decorated argument is easiest to make. The Tokyo Bin Party grey hoodie relocates the trash-can end of the street somewhere considerably more neon, and the Cookie Monster Fuji Dreaming oversized tee sends Cookie Monster on holiday in full landscape composition. Neither is a still with a filter over it. Both were drawn from scratch and approved as original artwork.
Fits, fabric and formats
Standard tees are combed cotton with a straight unisex body. The oversized cuts are 275gsm heavyweight with a boxy chest and a dropped shoulder, which is why the big character compositions live there, and why sizing down gives you a neater fit if you want one. Sesame Street hoodie and sweatshirt styles carry the same weight through winter without the print going chalky. Adult sizes run XS to 4XL.
Kids sizes and the Elmo question
A lot of this range gets bought for people under seven, and Elmo is usually the reason. Kids sizes run alongside the adult range on the designs cut for them, so the size dropdown on the product page is the fastest way to see what is available in small. A practical note: the oversized adult fits work as a nightshirt long before they work as a tee, so buy the kids cut if it is meant to be worn out of the house.
